“Oh Boy! It’s Picnic Time!”

The above statement is what a girl from IHS exclaimed, when she got the news for her annual picnic. Well certainly ‘All work and no play, makes jacka dull boy,’ stemming from this idiom, and to refresh the tired nerves of students, Indian High School (IHS) organizes frequent picnics or excursions for the students. In the recent past, IHS has taken students to various wonderful places such as the fast paced Ferrari World and the extreme Aquaventure, the aforementioned two are just to name a few.

Like every year, students wake up thrilled and enthusiastic on the day for their picnic. It has always been the most awaited day of the year for all students at IHS.

This academic year, the 5th, 6th, 9th as well as the 10th grade boys were taken to the Ferrari World, in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi, where they witnessed the magic of speed and zest of being champions. Speaking to the boys about their experience indeed projected that they had a splendid time.

RohanMendonca, a 9th grader shared his experience as he said “I was indeed marvelled at the virtual reality rides and also could not resist drooling over the Ferraris.” Showing his joy, Mendonca also exclaimed, “Ferrari World is awesome!”

As the boys had their share of fun and thrill in Ferrari world, the girls had something different in store for them. The 5th& 6th grade girls splashed some fun in the recently unleashed Iceland water park, situated in the heart of Ras Al Khaimah, while the 9th and 10th grade girls had the time of their lives in the resort cum water park Atlantis, the Palms, in Dubai. Melanie Moras, studying in the 6th grade could not hold her excitement as she said, “Iceland has everything fun, the ice, snow and most amazingly the cute model penguins. The rides were simply mesmerising. It’s lovely!

The 11th and 12th grade girls too had a great time at Dreamland Aqua Park, thelargest water park in the UAE that is located on the scenic coastline of Umm Al Quwain. Neha Nair, an 11th grader said, “I had a splashing good time. The slides have you whizzing down their intertwining bodies at speeds beyond belief. I just simply loved it. Thanks IHS for this wonderful opportunity.

There has not been a single student who hasn’t been touched by these picnics. After speaking to them, indeed it is evident that they have not only cherished the moments but even have gathered wonderful memories for life.
