Investing in the Future of Tomorrow
IHS students received their roles and responsibilities during the investiture ceremony.


The Annual Investiture Ceremony of Indian High School, Dubai for the academic session 2013-2014 was held with pride at the school premises on 14th May, 2013. It is an annual event for the school to invest in the future leaders of tomorrow through offering leadership roles in the form of school council.

The ceremony was presided over by the school CEO Mr. Ashok Kumar and was chaired by the Chief Guest Mr. David Hicks, principal of EIS Meadows High School. Proud parents of students were seated as audience with noticeably high degree of sincerity and enthusiasm. The ceremony started with various posts being announced and students smartly marching up to the podium to get their respective badges on their chests.

As a customary part of the ceremony, the flag of IHS was presentation to the Head Boy and respective house flags to the house captains to honour them with their responsibility. Dr. Almeida, the English Head of Department, administered the oath of office to the elected members. Taking the oath, the council promised to serve their 'duty to their best.'

During the ceremony, the Head Boy of the school, Bennet Sam Thomas delivered his speech of acceptance, requesting the crowd to join him on the journey to the pinnacle of success by bringing certain yet measurable changes. His also presented his vision for IHS, "It is my vision to create a school where each student gets to realize his potential and at the same time also gets the required infrastructure and environment to successfully achieve it."

One of the parents who took a day off from work to watch the prestigious event said, "The current globalised world offers you opportunities every day. It is very fortunate for our children to receive such opportunities. I am really proud of my son."

With pride and a sense of achievement surging in hearts of the parents and students, the school authorities listened with bated breath as the Chief Guest, Mr. David Hicks delivered a motivational speech, as he mentioned, "Have a clear conscience while delineating your duties. It is important to have honesty, integrity and loyalty as vital qualities for positions of dignity."

With the responsibilities placed on the student's firm shoulders, the newly appointed office bearers vowed to act as role models for the rest of the school to emulate. The momentous ceremony ended with a treat for the parents and the newly appointed council. Smiling and jubilant, the school authorities marched ahead immediately to take on their new office.
