Sports and athletics are known provide an opportunity for an all-round development of a student and to enhance athletic skills and abilities among today's youth.. Team spirit is the very essence of sports as it creates a space for co-operation and brotherhood.

The tradition of the sports festival at IHS began in the year 1997 under the guidance and support of Mr Ashok Kumar, the Chief Executive Officer of the school. Around 30 schools from all over the UAE take part every year and compete in the six sports disciplines for girls and boys under the age of 15 years.

Commenting on her effort at the sports fest, Anjali Vedula, a class 10 student and a member of the girls' football team said, "This is my first year as a participant at IHS Sports Fest. It was very well organized. I was there in the football team and we competed with 10 other teams and I am happy that we won the second prize. I got a Trophy too!"

Dr. Tapan Das, the supervisor of Physical Education and Human Performance further mentioned, "Our consistent performance is mainly due to regular training and the facilities for the students to excel in almost all the disciplines inside the school campus."

The girls' matches were held in the mornings and the boys in the afternoon and evenings. The matches were based on a league-cum-knockout system format. This year, swimming competitions had also been added to the festival. The overall championship was retained by our school this year. We marked our supremacy over the other schools in Basketball (Boys), Football (Boys), Table Tennis (Boys) And Badminton (Girls). We Were Also Runners Up In Football (Girls) And Table Tennis (Girls).
